Senator won't step down

  08:30PM 1'  Senator Danjuma Goje Senate Presidency: Goje withdraws, backs Lawan after meeting Buhari One of the contestants of the Senate Presidency of the 9th Senate, Danjuma Goje, has withdrawn from the race. He has also endorsed Senator Ahmed Lawan, the anointed candidate of the All Progressives Congress, for the job. The latest development followed a meeting both Senators held with President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday in Abuja. Kaduna State Governor,  Nasir el-Rufai, confirmed the outcome of the meeting to State House Correspondents. Both Goje and Lawan are already speaking with reporters on the matter. Metals removed from a man's stomach

This one is hard to stomach. A man in India was rushed into surgery after doctors discovered practically a whole utensil drawer’s worth of items in his stomach — and a knife, which was beginning to puncture his insides. Karan Sen, 35, had swallowed everything from two screwdrivers and two toothbrushes to eight spoons and a kitchen knife, the Hindustan Times reports. Sen is believed to have a psychiatric disorder which compels a person to eat non-edible items, according to the Daily Mail. The disorder, Pica, more commonly involves ingesting things like hair, dirt, and paint chips, though doctors didn’t say whether the man had been officially diagnosed. “It took nearly four hours for the team of surgeons to operate upon Karan,“ says Dr. Rajneesh Pathania, of Lal Bhadur Shastri Medical College. “He is out of danger now.” Sen arrived to the hospital in serious pain, but appeared to be unaware of the items in his stomach. The first crash occurred around 4:52 am on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway at AP petrol station at Sagamu. Clement Oladele, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun, said two persons died and many others injured in separate accidents on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Ogun State on Eid-el- Fitri day. The first crash occurred around 4:52 am on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway at AP petrol station at Sagamu. He said the accident which involved an Iveco truck marked KTU 565 XW, was as a result of speeding. Oladele said the accident involved three men, adding that two persons sustained injuries while one person died. The FRSC boss explained that the injured and the dead were taken to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu.
